It’s been a mixed week weatherise – glorious sunshine or dismal and heavy rain. I hope we have better weather at Half Term!
We started a new unit in Literacy, it is based on a clip called ‘The Piano’. It is a 2 minute clip that makes the viewer think and reflect on the flashbacks the old man has. In Numeracy we looked at area and perimeter. We are currently trying to find the area of triangles.
In History, we looked at the Maya system of writing and had a go at trying to devise our own symbol. In Science we learnt about how nutrients and fluid is absorbed through the small intestine. We had our last Mental Health session with Mel – the children now have a really good idea as to what mental health is and where to go for help when we need it and advice on how to help others.
It was disappointing to learn that we won’t be going for the residential at Arthog after Half Term. However, the children will get a very full day’s experience at the centre and partake in two great activities (canoeing and rock climbing).
Homework has been set and the answers to last week’s homework can be found in the normal place.
Have a super weekend.
