Another good week with lots of learning going on. In Maths, we have continued with algebra and are about to move onto another topic. Algebra can be hard to understand but I feel the children have taken to it so well. We completed the final paper of an old SAT this week. It has given me a good idea as to where the children are currently and what we need to cover prior to them starting at Secondary.
In Literacy, we continued with our Quest writing. I am trying to ensure the children have as many writing opportunities as possible and they have really taken to this genre. We will complete the topic next week. I am also trying to offer guidance in comprehensions and we complete a grammar lesson once a week too.
We learnt about the Maya number system, it was quite comprehensive and very advanced. Ask your child to explain it or the parts they remember. Mel returned on Tuesday to talk about who to go to when upset and what to say when emotions are high. It was the second part of her mental health input – we continue next week.
On Friday, we had an extra PE lesson where the children played Rounders – we will hopefully enter a competition at Belvidere in due course.
Arthog is a hot topic at the moment and Leaver’s Hoodies – if you haven’t already please return all paperwork so we can progress with their organising. Parent’s Evening next week; all who returned a slip have TEAM appointments on either Wednesday or Thursday afternoon/early evening.
Homework has been set and the answers, for last week, will appear shortly.
Have a great weekend.
