What a busy last week we have all had! All the older Nursery were fantastic at their Graduation Ceremony on Tuesday! Well done everyone! Thank you so much to everyone for all your support this last year & we wish all the children lots of luck as they start their next adventures in September!!

In Little Acorns we have been doing lots of summer activities this week we have made Inncy wincy spiders and paper plate ladybirds, we have role played going on a aeroplane to Barbados and made a beach in the tuff tray.

This week we have enjoyed continuing to read Goldilocks & the Three Bears. We have acted the story out and pretended to be the different characters. We have also been busy counting with the help of Numberblocks! We have enjoyed exploring in Forest School too! Next week we will be busy thinking about the season Summer and also looking at mini beasts!

This week in Little Acorns we have been looking at The Traditional Tale of ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’, We have read and acted out the story, we have made pretend porridge in the water tray, we have looked at the difference between wet and dry porridge and we have also been practicing and competing in our very own sports day which was on Wednesday. Well done everyone who took part.

This week in Little Acorns we have been looking at colour mixing, we have made lots of mess painting our hands different colours then rubbing them together to see what colours they turn in to, we have mixed colours together in big tuff trays outside, we have also been matching and naming coloured objects we find around nursery which is something you could continue do at home.

This week in Little Acorns we have been continuing with the traditional tale, ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’, we have made handprint goat pictures, made our own paper boats that we floated in water to help the goats cross the river, we have looked how we could build our own wooden bridge using the big wooden blocks and we have also started our sports day practice and made Fathers Day cards.

This week in Little Acorns we have been looking at the traditional tale, ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’, we have moved like the Billy Goats over the balancing equipment in PE, we have acted out the story with masks and the big foam blocks making a bridge for the Billy Goats to cross, we have sized matched the 3 goats, using size language like ‘big and small’ and also looked at World Environment Day on Wednesday learning what we can recycle and playing a fun recycling game outside.

This week in Little Acorns has been Art week in particular looking at ‘Vincent Van Gogh’s’ Sunflowers, so we have been doing different pieces of art looking at the colour yellow and the sunflower! We have made hand print sunflowers for our class display, we have made paper plate sunflowers with bubble wrap centres we have drawn flowers with chalk out side and also made biscuits to take home icing them in pretty colours, A very enjoyable week.
Next week is half term so have a lovely week off and we will see you all back here for some more fun and learning on 3rd June.

This week in little Acorns we have painted our faces for a display in class, made Elmer handprints, played an Elmer matching game and made Elmer models out of milk bottles, next week we will continue looking at Elephants and also have a go at some creative pictures for Arts Week.
Remember Friday 24th May is Elmer Day, to celebrate his 30th birthday! Everyone that is in nursery can come wearing colourful clothes for the day!
