What a busy last week we have all had! All the older Nursery were fantastic at their Graduation Ceremony on Tuesday! Well done everyone! Thank you so much to everyone for all your support this last year & we wish all the children lots of luck as they start their next adventures in September!!

This week in Acorn Class we have been very busy preparing for our Graduation ceremony next week! The Graduation is on Tuesday 16th July, it’s for all the children moving to Reception in September, we hope you can join us. The children have also had lots of fun in our Kickers football session on Tuesday too!

This week we have enjoyed continuing to read Goldilocks & the Three Bears. We have made story maps and acted the story out. We have also been busy counting with the help of Numberblocks! All the older nursery had a great time going to Beech Class for move up morning too! Next week we will be busy preparing for the older children’s graduation!

This week in Acorn Class we have been looking at The Traditional Tale of ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’, We have read and acted out the story, we have made pretend porridge in the tuff tray, we have looked at the difference between wet and dry porridge and we have also been practicing and competing in sports day which was on Wednesday. Well done everyone who took part. Next week our older nursery are very excited about going to Beech class for move up morning on Monday!

This week in Acorn Class we have been celebrating Holi a Hindu celebration & looking at colour mixing, we have read The Mixed Up Chameleon story and had lots of fun water spraying crape paper to see the colours change. We have also made lots of mess mixing colours together in big tuff trays outside, we have also been matching and naming coloured objects we find around nursery which is something you could continue do at home. Finally we have been practicing lots for Sports Day next week!

This week in Acorn Class we have been continuing with the traditional tale, ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’, we have made handprint goat pictures & had lots of fun retelling the story using all the props in our tuff tray. We also have a new role play area, a Garden Centre which we have had lots of fun exploring! We have also started our sports day practices and made Fathers Day cards.

This week in Acorn Class we have been reading the traditional tale, ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’, we have moved like the Billy Goats over the balancing equipment in PE, we have planted grass for the goats to eat & painted three billy goats & a troll for our display. On Wednesday we celebrated World Environment Day by learning about what we can recycle and playing a fun recycling game outside.
Please remember PE kits for every Monday & Friday and pumps or trainers for our Kickers football session on a Tuesday morning.

This week in Acorn Class has been Art week in particular looking at ‘Vincent Van Gogh’s’ Sunflowers, so we have been doing different pieces of art looking at the colour yellow and the sunflower! We painted our own sunflowers for our class display. Everyone enjoyed celebrating Elmer day. They joined in the Elmer March and made rainbow biscuits. A very enjoyable week!
Next week is half term so have a lovely week off and we will see you all back here for some more fun and learning on 3rd June.

This week in Acorn Class we have played an Elmer matching game and made Elmer models out of milk bottles. We also used spray bottles to wash away numbers and have been very busy washing Elmer and his friends in the water tray! Next week we will continue looking at Elephants and also have a go at some creative pictures for Arts Week.
Remember Friday 24th May is Elmer Day, to celebrate his 30th birthday! Everyone that is in nursery can come wearing colourful clothes for the day!
