Willow – 5.11.21
Good afternoon,
We have had a very lively first week back in Willow class. The children have returned with a wonderful attitude towards their work and are having some great discussions.
This half term in Science we are looking at our circulatory system and how it adapts to what we do in our everyday lives. In English we are now discussing and writing fictional texts and have just started looking at setting descriptions.
We have PE on Monday, so please send the children in in their PE kits.
Please keep up the daily reading at home, it really makes a difference.
Hope you have a good weekend,
Mr Reynolds
Willow – 15.10.21
Good afternoon,
Notice: Next week is Parent’s Evening, your child has the link for the Teams call. They know how to log on and set it up, please confirm with them your time.
This week has seen us draw to end some of this half term’s unit’s of work. We have finished out investigation into microorganisms, ending up with models of bacteria, fungi and virus. In French, we have looked and practiced how to ask for items when shopping.
Today the children wrote a non-chronological report about themselves, thinking really hard into how to keep it factual and referring to themselves in the third person.
Reading seems to have dropped off a bit at the moment, please encourage the children to keep up the reading at home.
Hope you have a good weekend,
Mr Reynolds

This week we are looking at some of the Year 5/6 spellings.
Willow – 8.10.21
Good afternoon,
This week seems to have whizzed past. I have been really impressed with many of the children’s attitude towards their work this week. In maths they have been methodical and accurate as we have tackled multiplication and English they have started to really think about their writing.
In Geography, we had a really good discussion about the use of dams and their effect on different groups, looking at both positive and negative.
Lots of children have really improved their frequency of reading, please keep encouraging them to do this.
Hope you have a good weekend,
Mr Reynolds

To end the week, we have watched everyone’s headboy/headgirl speeches and have voted on who we believe is best for the role. Results will hopefully be announced on Monday.
Hope you have a good weekend,
