In Maths, we have completed our unit on volume, where the children have distinguished the difference between volume and capacity and put this into real life contexts.
In English, we have focused on writing relative clauses to upgrade our sentences to make them more interesting for the reader. We have then used these in the context of describing a tropical island from our book.
Our Golden Certificate Winner this week is Jake K. He always tries his hardest to achieve his best in everything he does. He is a fantastic role model to his peers ready to move up to Year 6! Well Done!
Have a great weekend. Hopefully see you all at the Summer Fayre tomorrow!

Welcome back!
In English, we have been looking at a Mayan folklore story. We have tweaked the story to make it our own and will be creating our very own individual books on this. How exciting!
In Maths, we have started looking at negative numbers. We have looked at how to count through zero into negatives and also compare these numbers.
We had a fantastic art lesson this afternoon, where the children created a clay tile with a Mayan design/pattern etched into it. We had a great time experimenting with the clay.
Our Golden Certificate Winner this week is Tyler-Jay. He worked hard this morning in English to think of powerful adjectives for his Mayan folklore story. Well Done!
Have a great weekend

Today has been a sad day, saying goodbye to Miss Shadbolt! She will be missed by all and all the children showed their appreciation for her today. We wish her all the best of luck in the future!
Our Golden Certificate Winner this week is Taylor! He has shown FANTASTIC effort in Maths when working with decimals and his hard work has paid off, as he received an AMAZING score in the end of unit test! Super well done!
