All children are welcome to lunch including children who bring sandwiches as there will be no charge on BBQ Thursday!
Menu will be as follows:

We cannot believe that we have already completed another week in Hazel class! This week we have been busy writing our biography about Rose Davies. We have added lots of information and some amazing facts about this truely inspirational lady. Next week we are going to be making a class book of our work.
In maths we are now working on our addition and subtraction skills. We are using numbers up to 100. Each day we practise our times tables too. Please help by practising these at home. You could use Mathletics or Hit the Button.
We have learned how William Smith used fossils to age the rocks in the UK and how rocks are formed. We are really enjoying learning about different scientists and inventors.

I would just like to take the opportunity to say thank you to all of the children and parents/carers that have made my first year at Crowmoor so special. I have loved teaching Sycamore class. We have had some brilliant laughs, good experiences and some special memories. I will look back on this year and smile. Thank you for your continued support and my lovely gifts – you have no idea how much it means to me. I wish all the children lots of luck for next year. I just know you will all achieve great things in Year 5. Have a lovely summer holiday!

Test 7.7.23
This week the children have worked hard on the Year One Phonics Screening, we have also completed lots of phonic activities. We have enjoyed finding out about Mai Jaimason and her life. We also watched some footage of Tim Peake in space to answer some of our questions. In History we are learning about toys and have looked at toys through different eras.
Today Chestnut Class won the jelly babies for having the best attendance in the school. Keep being on time and coming to school each day- we may win again!

This week in in English, we have begun our unit on explanation texts. We have looked at different examples linked to the Egyptians, discuss, and identified the features of an explanation text.
In Maths, we have begun our unit on length. We have measured in millimetres, centimetres and meters. As well as finding equivalent lengths.
Just a reminder that children should leave personal belongings at home, as we would not want anything getting lost or broken.
Well done to this weeks golden certificate winner, Anya. For her improvement in her spellings and weekly spelling tests, well done for all of your hard work with these!
