Well we hope you enjoyed the children’s performances this week as much as they enjoyed performing to you. They have all worked so hard to remember their lines as well as the words to the songs and were very brave standing up on the stage performing in front of you all. I’m sure you are as proud of them as we all are!
We also had the Christmas Carol Rehearsal at the church earlier this week in preparation for Monday’s Carol Service, as we will be singing along with the rest of school at the Baptist Church on Monday at 1:30pm. Beech and Acorn will be performing a short song on their own at one point in the service and will be sat on the right hand side of the church near the piano.
There will be no PE or Forest School next week due to Christmas activities, both will resume after the holidays.
Amid all the practicing and performing we have managed to squeeze in some Christmas crafts and have sent our tree decorations up to St Chads to be added to our school tree alongside all the other classes decorations. In Maths we have been learning about place value as our Elf Jingle keeps mixing up all the numbers on our Maths board and we have also been learning to add two groups of objects using the baubles he brought us. In Literacy we have been writing about wintry things, practicing handwriting and writing inside the cards we have made. The children have learnt four new sounds this week in letters and sounds which will be in their sound bags to practice at home and also have their final Maths Challenge for the term. It would be great to have as many of them completed as possible so that we could be in with a chance of winning the prize in assembly for the highest percentage of completed Maths Challenges.
Have a great weekend. 🙂
