Another busy week for Beech Class and after a rather wet start to the week, it luckily stayed dry enough yesterday for us to have our sports day. Thank you so much to all who came. It was a great turnout for the children and they did so well with all the events, even with a little stage fright! A massive well done to all the adults who raced at the end – what a competitive bunch you are! Thank you all for being such good sports.
The children were also treated to a sneak preview of the Year 5/6 performance on Monday watching their dress rehearsal to the whole school which they very much enjoyed.
In Drawing Club we read the story Superworm by Julia Donaldson. They have created some superbases, a new baddie and a new superhero to help him. They had some brilliant ideas and continue to work hard on writing independently. Here are some examples of their great work:
In maths we have continued to consolidate key areas such as adding, subtracting and creating repeating patterns. As part of this we read One Is a Snail, Ten Is a Crab and worked on making different numbers according to the number of feet a creature had.
As we we are coming to the end of term and indeed the end of the academic year, we will be taking in the children’s reading books towards the end of next week. Please ensure the children have their reading books and records in school every day so we can keep them reading with them right up until the end of term. Thank you.
Have a great weekend.
