Good afternoon,
This week we have finished our decimals unit in maths. We have been looking at comparing and ordering decimals, rounding to the nearest whole number and looking at halves and quarters as decimals. In our writing lessons we have been looking at character descriptions and how we can use fronted adverbials, emotive sentences and expanded noun phrases in our writing. We looked at adjectives to describe Ariki from our class text ‘Ariki and the Islands of Wonder’ then tried to write a character description of Ariki.
Our Golden Certificate winner this week is Ben. He has been working hard to edit and improve his writing this week and taken on feedback given. Ben is always eager to learn, tries hard and wants to produce his best work in all he does.
Yesterday, the children really enjoyed making circuits in our Science lesson and this afternoon we have continued to look at how we can edit images by changing the colour in our computing lesson.
As the weather is starting getting warmer and children take off their jumpers and cardigans, can you please make sure your child’s belongings are named so if any are misplaced they can quickly be returned. Thank you.
We hope you have a great weekend.
Mrs Fairclough and Mrs Brunyard.
