We have had another busy week in Hazel Class and everyone has worked very hard. In English we have been learning how to write biographies and using the past tense. We have been changing sentences into the past tense and editing our work. We wrote a simple biography for Marie Curie linked to our Science work on Scientists and inventors.
In maths we have been partitioning numbers up to 1000 into hundreds, tens and ones. Today we found new ways of partitioning these numbers called ‘flexible partitioning’. The children were great at this and had lots of fun finding different ways to partition using their number knowledge.
We have used Google Earth to look closely at our local area, including some of our houses. We made simple sketch maps of our school and will be continuing our local area mapping in the coming weeks.
Have a good weekend and remember – Read, Read, Read
