Good afternoon and happy Easter holidays.
It’s been a short but busy Spring term.
Yesterday, the children made their own Stone Age Clothing and showed off their sewing skills.
The children have loved our book ‘Rumaysa’ in our reading sessions and we have finished reading it this week. In our writing sessions, we have been looking at haikus. We talked about syllables and found the features of this type of poem before having a go at writing our own.
We’ve ended our week looking at place value and partiting decimals in maths.
Our Golden certificate week is Tristan. He’s been trying hard in class and working more independently in our maths lessons.
We hope you all manage to have some rest over the Easter Holidays and the children come back recharged and ready for the Summer term.

Good afternoon,
This week we have been planning and writing our own non-chronological report in our writing sessions. We have almost finished our book ‘Rumaysa’ in our reading sessions.
In Maths, we finished our first unit on decimals and then have been recapping multiplication and division.
In Science this half term, we have been looking at scientists and inventors. After talking about Thomas Edison, the children enjoyed thinking of their own inventions.
Our Golden certificate winner this week is Grace. She is a kind, caring and helpful member of Sycamore Class who tries hard and always has a big smile on her face. Grace is constantly growing in confidence and has been contributing more to our class discussions. Well done!
We hope you have a great weekend.

Good afternoon,
The children all looked great dressed up for World Book Day yesterday. They all had lots of fun going into different classes and trying lessons such as Quidditch, Transfiguration, Herbology, Charms and Care of magical creatures.
They are really enjoying the Rumaysa book we are doing in Reading our reading sessions. This week we have also started to look at Non-chronological reports in our writing sessions. We have been going over the features ready to plan and write our own next week.
In Maths, we have been continuing a work on decimals. The children have been dividing a 2-digit number by 10 and looking at hundredths. We have been recognising hundredths as fractions and decimals, and finding hundredths on a place value chart.
Our Golden Certificate winner is Alissiya. She has been trying very hard in class, especially in Maths. Well done and keep it up.
Have a lovely weekend.

In English, we have been planning and writing our historical story. We are continuing to work on reading our work back and editing and improving.
This half term we are looking at Judaism in RE. Today we found out about Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
Our Golden Certificate winner this week is Lilly. She has settled in well and become a great member of our class. Well done!
Please keep up the reading, mathletics and times tables at home.
