This week in in English, we have continued our unit on speeches. We have focused on the different features of persuasive speeches including rhetorical questions and emotive language. Today we have tried to use some of these features to write our response to a speech.
In Maths, we have been learning more about decimals. We have looked at how hundredths are represented as fractions and decimals and on a place value chart. Today, we have looked at dividing a 1 or 2-digit number by 100.
In Science, the children enjoyed looking at food labels and finding the nutritional values of different foods. We have also looked at things needed to survive and be healthy and carnivores, herbivores and omnivores.

A huge well done to Year 3 and 4 for their fantastic performance ‘Glint of Gold’. They were fantastic and we are very proud of them all. Thank you to parents and carers for helping them learn lines, practise songs and their costumes. A big thank you also to all those that bought refreshments before the performances (and those that sold them). We raised £125.60.
When they haven’t been busy practising and performing ‘Glint of Glint’ we’ve had assessment week. The children have written a story, been looking at grammar and punctuation and completed their accelerated reading test. In Maths, we’ve finished our unit on fractions.
Our Golden Certificate Winner is All the Children in Sycamore. They were amazing in their performance and we couldn’t be prouder. Well done, Sycamore Class.
Have a great weekend.
