Welcome back and we hope you had a great Easter break.
In English this week, the children have read a range of different speeches, delivered a speech and looked at features of a speech. Today we have looked at the difference between fact and opinion, and next week we will continue to look at features of a speech ready to write our own at the end of the unit.
In Maths, we have started our work on decimals. We have explored tenths as fractions and decimals, tenths on a place chart and number line, and dividing a 1-digit number by 10.
In RE, we have recapped why Christians celebrate Easter where children enjoyed acting out Holy Week and then looked at Pentecost.
In Science, we have been talking at what animals (including humans) need to survive and stay healthy and sorted foods into different food groups.
Our Golden Certificate winner this week was Ethan. He has come back with a positive attitude to learning and been trying hard. Ethan has also been reading at home. Well done and keep it up.
Daily reading and practising times tables and spellings really does make a huge difference to the children.
Yesterday, the children were given a letter about our trip to the prison. Thank you to all those who have returned them already.
The children will be given homework for this half term on Monday so please can they bring their homework books into school. Thank you.
We hope you all have a nice weekend.
