Good afternoon,
This week we have finished our persuasive letters, which the children will bring a copy of home next week. In maths, we are working through the 4 operations, please keep encouraging your children to use Mathletics and TTRS to help reinforce their understanding.
In geography we have continued to explore rivers, focusing on erosion and deposition. In science the children explored classification and identified the characteristics of animals.
There have been many children working hard and really trying to improve this week. One child who has particular stood out and is this week’s Golden Certificate winner is Scarlett – congratulations.

Good afternoon,
I have been very impressed with the children’s attitude to their learning this week, they have been really trying across the board. In maths, we started our new unit covering the four operations and in English the children have planned and began writing a persuasive letter. One child in particular who has really tried their best this week and is our Golden Certificate winner is Scarlett – congratulations.
In geography, we have explored the different sections on a river and have began to focus on the River Severn. Whilst in science, we have been looking at classification. We also carried out our first reading test this week, where the children have achieved some good scores, so it is really important we continue this and the children keep reading daily at home.

Good afternoon,
We have had a great week in Year 6. The children have worked particularly hard in their English lessons, writing persuasive letters applying for the various roles in year 6. We have also recorded the speeches for those children going for the Head Pupil positions.
In maths, we have finished our unit on Place Value. The children’s homework this week is on mathletics, revisiting our learning in class. In geography we have continued to explore rivers around the world and in science we have started looking at classification.
One child who has worked particularly hard this week across all areas, and is Willow’s Golden Certificate Winner is Charlie – congratulations.
The children have started really well with their reading and the recording of their reading, please encourage them to continue this over the weekend.

Wow what a first week in Year 6.
I have been very impressed by the children’s attitude and their behaviour in class. One child who has demonstrated this and is this week’s Golden Certificate winner is Isobel.
This week we have started a range of units, however I have stressed to the children the importance of reading. I do expect them to be reading at home daily and to be able to talk about what they have read.
Please can you help the children to make sure they wear the correct uniform each day. Our PE day is Thursday and on Friday we will be starting our swimming lessons.

Willow – 14.7.23
Good afternoon.
I would like to say thank you for all of your support with Shakespeare Rocks; the children’s outfits were great and they really knew their lines and the lyrics. It was brilliant to see so many of you watching and celebrating their final Crowmoor production.
Next week we have sports day on Tuesday morning, starting at 9:30am. The children will be trying to get as many points for their house as possible, rather than their normal P.E. top they can wear a top supporting the colour of their house.
This week the children have finished off their story books and have continued to look at methodical approaches and strategy in maths. In science we are exploring evolution and inheritance.

Good afternoon,
The children have all been sharing their experiences of their transition days this week, it has been great hearing about how they got on and what they are looking forward to.
This week we have been focusing on our performance Shakespeare Rocks. I am very impressed with the children’s singing and how well some of them have learnt their lines. One child who has worked particularly hard and is this week’s Golden Certificate winner is Ethan – congratulations.
On Monday 10th July, we have a dress rehearsal, the children need to come to school in their costumes and bring in their P.E. kits to change into. On Wednesday 12th July, the children will need to bring in their costumes ready for our performances.
