I hope this message find you all fit, healthy and well. I don’t know where the last fortnight has gone! I attach the new Fortnightly Topic Homework – this will be the last work I set your child as the following fortnight will be within the Summer Holidays.
The homework is linked to what we have been doing in class. Please see the final page of the Homework sheet – it contains required information for your child’s final assembly. If your child could complete it and email a copy to willow@crowmoorschool.co.uk I will collate with the completed versions from the children who are in class and give your child a copy when they come to their Assembly. The Assembly is next Thursday at 1:30pm – further details were published yesterday and I have included a little detail on the Homework sheet (Page 2).
The homework:
Work for Year 6 – w:c 6th July 2020
The new murder investigation:
The Science Characteristic activity:
As usual, in the event of query please contact me directly on the email mentioned above and if you need hardcopies of the homework please contact the office directly.
Please continue to keep safe.
Kind regards
Mr Wilmot

What has happened to the weather?
Another busy and good week. Some children returned to school and will be in school next week more. We have been open to Y6 on a Monday and Tuesday for the last fortnight; next week we open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. If working from home you most probably had a call from Mrs Dowell. The intention of the call is to see if your child is well and to see what we can do to support them further. More homework has been set – the homework set now is very similar to the work we are doing in class and is for the children working from home only. That is with the exception of reading and the completion of the CPG Booster books; having said that they are almost complete.
It was great to see the returning children in school and I am pleased to again report that our procedures appear to be working well and that the children are exemplary in their compliance to the new processes and their social distancing. The school feels far more normal and familiar than it did prior to the class return.
In the event of homework queries and submission please email the class address: willow@crowmoorschool.co.uk.
Have a splendid weekend.
Keep well and safe.
Mr Wilmot
Please find the new fortnightly homework – it starts on 22nd June and will finish on 5th July. I have tried to mirror what we have done or what we will do in class to ensure the children have consistency.
Work for Year 6 – wc 22nd June 2020
There are new spellings, a new literacy focus and clip, a murder investigation, PSHE and Art activities. The murder investigation can be found below and on the homework section of our class website page. You will find a couple of activity sheets at the bottom of the homework document.

Murder clues:
In the event of homework queries or to submit homework please do so on our class email address: willow@crowmoorschool.co.uk. I will respond as soon as I can but please note that I will be teaching full-time from next week.
Hardcopies of this homework and the maths investigation can be collected from the office, as usual; please call to request.
Stay safe and take care.
Mr Wilmot
Please find the attached documents that relate to the Maths Murder Investigation. It is entitled ‘Murder in Mallorca’ and it involves completing maths activities to reveal clues to reduce the suspects. Eventually the reduction of suspects reveals the murderer. The clues this fortnight related to the functions (adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing) and an activity about prime numbers.
The background story:
The suspects:
The clues:
When complete you will have a name, I will reveal all when I set the next investigation in a fortnight. The exposing of the murderer makes the activity more fun but if your child just concentrates on the maths involved that would be appropriate too.
Have fun and stay safe.
The first week back after Lockdown. We had a good day on Monday and Tuesday. The bubble concept seems to be working and I thank all the children for their patience and learning of new systems.
I hope all enjoyed the Lockdown SAT; it was just a little fun. For those working from home don’t forget to complete the SAT, complete the new topic homework (which is similar to the work we are doing in class) and the CPG homework from the SAT Buster Books.
In normal times we would have been in Arthog now. It is such a shame we can’t go but I completely agree with the Centre closing during COVID-19 – even if they were open, we wouldn’t have been able to get there with the current ban on travelling into Wales. Hopefully your children will get the opportunity to go another time whilst at Secondary.
I am going to pick up the Crucial Crew Booklets early next week. I will use these within lessons in school but if your child is working from home then I will ensure you have a copy too.
Have a great weekend and stay safe.
