Hello and welcome to a new school year and to Beech Class. We hope you all had a lovely restful break and are looking forward to the term ahead. We’ve had a lovely week getting to know everyone and I’m getting better at recognising faces at home time – please bear with me! 🙂
The children have settled really well and are starting to learn their new rules and routines. They have enjoyed making new friends and exploring their new classroom both inside and out. Hopefully you will have seen some photos on Tapestry of them settling in but please let me know if you have not been able to access your account. Remember to check your junk mail folder for the activation email as they often end up in there!
Next week we will be continuing to get to know the children before launching our Theme for the term –Â “Who are we?”. We will be going ‘back in time’ to learn about how they have changed, how different things were when our parents and grandparents were 4 and 5, all the way back to life during WW1, including Remembrance.
We will also be carrying out the Government’s Reception Baseline Assessment. This involves some practical activites that the children carry out with me on a 1:1 basis. Please see this link for more information.

If you have any queries about this, please feel free to contact me on the class email address beech@crowmoorschool.co.uk
If possible, could you please send in a picture of your child as a baby or post one on Tapestry by the end of next week (Friday 16th September). Thank you.
It was incredibly hard to choose a Golden Certificate Winner this week as all the children have done so well adapting to their new class and routines but a huge well done to Ryan for settling in so well and being such a fantastic helper at tidy up time! 😊
We hope you have a lovely weekend.
