Week 2 of lockdown complete – it is weird, isn’t it? Important though as sadly we are in the peak of spread. The statistics are shocking but if we do the right thing we shouldn’t be too worried.
I have been into school a couple of days this week and have continued to analyse recent scores from the assessment, prior to closing. I have also set some more work (Test 2). I will publish the answers to this on Monday 20th April. I have set more homework and it is on the ‘Homework Page’. This is the page where I place homework, extra work and topic work.
The homework that I set for this week is for the Easter Holidays – I will forward the answers on the Friday in the first official week of the Summer Term.
Normally we would invite your children into school to attend an Easter Intervention Club – this would address any misconceptions and allow your child chance to revise areas they need extra help with. This club will obviously not be taking place in view of the school being closed and the cancellation of SATs.
I will set more work for your children to complete when we return after the Easter break. If they get bored they will find work on Mathletics, they should be maintaining their reading regime and they can revise any areas, within most subjects, using the tutorials/games on BBC Bitesize.
I can recommend the following website: https://radioblogging.net/?fbclid=IwAR3d2J6YVVtaFHa01RYhPY-tWqV6snGuP55hM4L56lO9oZk1f-wXfDA-ii8 – it is a radioblog run by well-known poets and people within education.
The TWINKL site for parents is also superb – this has a number of activities you can direct your child to… https://www.twinkl.co.uk/resources/parents
Have a great weekend, the weather is meant to be good and enjoy the time with your immediate family (those you live with) over the Easter hols.
‘Speak’ again soon.
