The last week in June and the beginning of July – this term has flown by.
We didn’t have our usual tennis session on Monday but it will recommence next week. We had our extra PE session on Monday afternoon when the children played a circuit of Basketball, Netball and Tennis – it was a fun session.
In Literacy, we continued with our debate topic – the children wrote a piece about whether we should have mobile phones in school. We are looking at balanced arguments and ensuring we include view points ‘for’ and ‘against’ then stating our opinion within the conclusion.
In Maths, we finished our angle unit. The children are now capable of working out the number of degrees in polygons and vertical opposing angles. We learnt how to use a protractor and how to draw shapes accurately to the length directed and the angles provided.
We completed Willow’s Sports Day on Wednesday morning and Caradoc came first, very closely followed by Haughmond and Grinshill in joint second. Wrekin came third. All children gave it their all and I hope they enjoyed the variety of events – there was a good mix of track and field.
We completed our Science experiment from last week and started our last unit: animal classification and micro-organisms.
A busy and enjoyable week.
Have a good weekend.
