We are about to enter the penultimate week for this first half term! It is also Miss Shadbolt’s last week – we have really enjoyed her time within Willow and all children have benefited from her teaching, enthusiasm and commitment. It has been an absolute pleasure hosting her in her final placement – she’ll be teaching full-time in September with a class of her own.
In Maths, the children have enjoyed and excelled at algebra and in Literacy we have started to write our Science Fiction stories – this will continue next week as we have only just began to devise our settings and characters. In RE, we looked at the Hindu Creation story – next week the children get a chance to make their own up. We had an extra PE session and in History we learnt about famous astronauts. The children also learnt more songs for the upcoming ‘Daniel’ performance and they enjoyed another music and French session.
We have marked the homework and the children have their next instalment – I am encouraged by their commitment and enthusiasm towards progressing their knowledge. If they struggle please encourage them to come and see me – ideally a few days before we mark on a Friday to enable completion prior to marking.
I hope you have a restful and happy weekend.
