We have had a good week back after a great and relaxing half term. On Tuesday, the children helped plant a hedgerow on Monkmoor Meadow. It is a fantastic spot and somewhere we will return to, in the future, when the saplings have had chance to take hold and begin the formation of the replacement hedge. The children enjoyed being outside; it was a fantastic morning weatherise. We have concentrated on grammar activities within Literacy and in Maths we have looked at the relationship between fractions, decimals and percentages. We have boosted three afternoons this week and I thank you for continuing to support your children in the completion of their homework. I appreciate I set a quite a lot for half term but I am conscious we complete the revision books prior to the exams in May. On Thursday, we devoted part of our morning to discussing the worrying developments and spread of MOMO. MOMO is a very sinister application that can be found on all internet-linked and social network sites. It encourages people to engage in conversation and as the relationship develops carry out risky and potentially life-threatening dares. I was heartened by the children’s responses and the action they would take if they encountered it whilst on line – they knew to ignore all requests, tell an adult immediately and not engage in conversations/communication. Please be vigilant when allowing your child access to the internet, including access to fortnite etc. Have a super weekend.
