The end of another Half Term – time is flying and I am in the process of talking to the Secondaries about transition and the children moving on at the end of Term. Belvidere and Meole Brace representatives came into school, this week, to see the children who are moving to their respective schools and hopefully your children’s minds are more at ease with their progression to Secondary.
We go to Arthog almost as soon as we return back to school for the final term. The children and staff are looking forward to a day of adventure and activity. A letter went home yesterday with a revised kit list. Mr Parkhurst spoke to the children at lunch and answered questions the children may have had. We are checking to see if £7 is enough for an Arthog t-shirt – apparently we will have access to the shop at Arthog and the t-shirts have been very popular in the past. If they are more expensive we will contact you to ‘up’ the amount of pocket money the children can take.
We continued our Piano study in Literacy and in Maths we concentrated on area and volume. In Science, we looked at healthy diets and we compared World climates in Geography.
I have set new homework and the answers to last week are posted in the normal place.
Well done to Zak and Billy – they successfully completed their football season and received medals for their efforts and valued contribution. Billy also won the ‘Man of the Match’ trophy – a very impressive achievement.
Have a super half term – the weather has improved and it seems to lift the spirits; the rain was becoming a little depressing.
Kind regards,
Mr Wilmot and Mrs Carroll-Lewis
