Well it’s been a busy and warm week. I am so glad to be back in school, it was so frustrating being at home and having to isolate. I feel for the children who are still isolating and hope they are all keeping their spirits up.
We have completed a few assessments this week – this is to give the children some idea as to where they are now we have almost completed Year 6. They have a few days left and will then progress to the next stage of their life. We have a final assembly on Tuesday where they will share memories. We will also sing a shanty about their time in Year 6 and we will read a poignant poem about the last hours of Primary life.
I informed the children that I too will be moving on at the end of this academic year. I have taken up a Deputy Head position in a school outside Shrewsbury and am looking forward to a new challenge. I have really enjoyed my six years at Crowmoor and am grateful for the experiences and opportunities I have had.
I thank you for your continued support and assistance over the last year – it has been anything but normal. I would like to think the children have had as good an experience as they could have had with the restrictions we have learnt to live with.
I will not be setting homework as the children are about to start their holiday; they won’t have any spellings either. The answers to last week’s homework will be posted as per normal and I will email work for those children who are isolating at home.
Have a great weekend; it is going to be a hot one by all accounts.
