We are now 6 weeks into the term – I can’t quite believe it. We had our last swimming session on Friday at Shrewsbury School and the children had a great PE lesson, with the coach, that looked very energetic and fun. I have reminded the children about bringing their PE kit into school and if they forget I will ask the office to inform you so you are aware. I think it is imperative that all children carry out PE, unless of course there is a reason not to participate, as it acts as a superb release and it can allow children to use a number of cross-curricular skills. There is a Cross Country Competition next week (Friday pm) and some children in class have been asked to represent the school – please ensure your child return their slips to confirm attendance.
In Maths we have really honed and revised how to multiply – division next week and in Literacy we concentrated on Grammar and comprehension activities. We learnt about refraction in Science and continued with our river study – we learnt about meanders and Oxbow Lakes.
It is our Harvest Festival rehearsal next week and the actual Harvest Assembly Service at the Church a week on Tuesday – the school is supporting the Ark again so please donate what you can to such an important and fantastic voluntary organisation.
Have a great weekend.
