It has been a super week. The children should now feel welcomed back and very much an integral part of the school and new members of Willow. I will assign responsibilities to the children next week – I know they are eager to get started! It has been a week of setting the scene and a few assessments to ensure I place the children in the correct groups and to allocate resources. We have started our place value topic in maths and in literacy we have looked at grammar, we have written a piece of writing about some Meerkats and a poem about a castle we have studied. We start our term’s ‘Wild Water’ topic next week and the children will have an associated homework project that relates to this. I will also send out the spellings early next week for the children to learn prior to their test in the subsequent week. Please remind your children to read each night and continue practising their multiplication tables.
