Happy New Year!
We hope you all had a lovely Christmas.
Despite the children only being back two days, we’ve been busy in Year 4. The children really enjoyed telling us all about their Christmas holidays. In English we’ve been looking at recounts and they had a go at writing their own.
We have started our new unit on length and perimeter in Maths. We looked at kilometres, meters and centimetres, which would be the best unit of measure to use and then compared measurements.
In Science, we started our unit on states of matter by looking at properties of a solid, liquid and gas. We talked about particles and the children sorted materials into solids, liquids and gases.
We looked at different clothing in design and technology. The children used the labels to help them work out what the clothing was made of it. We also looked at types at how they were joined together.
Swimming will be on next Friday, so please can you make sure your child brings in their swimming kit and coat. Thank you.
We hope you have a great weekend.
