Hello everyone,
We’ve had another busy week in Sycamore class. We have been writing our own non-chronological reports in Literacy. We have been writing about polar bears and their diet, habitats and appearance. The children have been trying to include lots of expanded noun phrases, conjunctions and adverbs for time.
In Maths, we have been continuing our work on multiplication and division and looking at multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100. Next week, we will be looking at multiplying by 6, 7 and 9. It would be really beneficial if the children could practice their times tables as this creates the foundations for lots of strands within Maths.
We have been continuing our ‘Reading the Game’ programme and it was great to see that everyone had their winter PE kit in school. The children were learning how to do freestyle tricks and then played small-sided games. They showed really good sporting behaviour and respect to each other.
November seems to be flying by and the weather is most certainly much colder now. Children are encouraged to wear scarves, gloves and hats as well as their coats at playtimes. If children are bringing any of these things in to school, please can you ensure that their name is labelled clearly. Stray gloves are always being found around school!
Have a lovely weekend!
