Hello everyone,
It has been anti-bullying this week and the focus for 2019 is ‘Change starts with us’. We have discussed how we can make changes to try to stop bullying from happening. The children made anti-bullying posters which will be displayed around school. We spoke about being kind to everyone and what to do if you think someone is being bullied. The children showed great maturity throughout the week and gave sensible opinions and ideas.
We have been working on our non-chronological reports in Literacy and have been writing about various different animals which live in extreme habitats. The children have been using all of the features shown in the example text. They have also been trying to include their personal targets in their work too.
In Maths, we have been continuing our unit on multiplication and division. We have been multiplying numbers by 10 and 100 this week. The children found this a bit tricky to start with but have persevered and shown a better understanding over the course of the week. Well done to everyone!
We have also had our weekly session of ‘Reading the Game’ with Coach Neil and STFC. The children played some small-sided games and started to learn some freestyle tricks. Even though it is blustery and a bit wet, we still did the practical element outside. Please can children make sure that they have tracksuit bottoms, a spare pair of socks, a jumper and a waterproof coat with them for these sessions. Children also need to make sure that they have suitable footwear for PE too. School shoes are not appropriate as it can increase the risk of injury.
Spellings will be sent home and they will be tested next Friday. Homework (the Topic project sheets) will be collected on Wednesday. Times tables tests are done every Friday.
Have a lovely weekend!
