It’s been a busy last week to end the first half of our spring term, with parents evenings and the Valentine’s disco. It was great to see/speak to so many parents and carers this week.
This week we’ve finished looking at length and perimeter in Maths. The children have been calculating the perimeter of polygons and regular polygons, and finding missing lengths. After half term, we will be moving on to look at fractions.
In English, we’ve been finishing writing our explanation texts. We have been working on editing our work and writing it up neat. After half term we will be looking at play scripts.
Yesterday, the children enjoyed our first proper run through of our play ‘Glint of Gold’. Please can children with scripts practice their lines over the half term. All children have been given a letter about costumes today. Please let us know if there are any problems.
The children have also enjoyed sculpting insects this week in Art.
Our Golden certificate winner this week is Jake R. Jake is a kind, caring and helpful member of our class who tries hard and is eager to learn. Jake is making good progress in all subjects, especially reading. We are also very proud of Jake for performing in Get Your Wiggle On TITANIC THE MUSICAL. Well done, Jake.
Thursday 2nd March we will be celebrating World Book Day where children can come to school dressed as their favourite book character.
We hope you all have a fantastic half term.
