Let’s start off by looking at the end our week last week:
We had a fantastic day for Children In Need. See below for a photograph:
Also, a BIG thank you to Indie’s Grandma for making and donating our very own Pudsey Bear!
This week in English, we have looked at and created our own Oak Class World War 2 poem. The children worked in groups to collaboratively create 2 verses each for our poem. They all focused on a different area of the war and had to ensure the rhyming pattern and rhythm were kept the same throughout.
In Maths, we have continued to work with tricky fractions! We found comparing fractions with different denominators particularly tricky, but with more practice, the children can now confidently order and compare fractions including mixed numbers!
During our Science this week, the children worked in groups to test air resistance. They were challenged to create a working parachute using different materials to test which had the most air resistance acting upon it. We linked and discussed our ideas linked to gravity; how the mass of the material affected the gravity acting upon it, making it fall to the floor faster. Super impressed with the discussions this week!
Today was our last session of swimming, so back to normal next week!
Our Golden Certificate Winner is Rosie! She has worked extremely hard during Maths this week. She has, also, shown off her knowledge and skills at home by completing some extra work on fractions! Keep up the hard work Rosie. Well done!
Have a great weekend
