Welcome back!
Some important messages to start:
- Year 5 have PE Mondays and Thursdays, so please send in PE kit on these days.
- We only have 1 more week left of swimming (17.10.23)
- Please return school trip letters as soon as possible.
In English this week, we have began to look at the life of Anne Frank. I am absolutely amazed at ALL of the children’s enthusiasm towards learning about WW2. They have asked some brilliant questions and have begun to write a biography for Anne Frank’s life and her diary.
In Maths, the children have started their unit on Fractions. This week, we have focused on finding and recognising equivalent fractions.
The children have particularly enjoyed our Geography and History lessons this week, where we have focused on the events leading to World War 2 and looking at the Netherlands, as this is where Anne Frank lived during WW2. We have investigated into Anne Frank’s secret annex and what life was like for Jews during this time in History.
Our Golden Certificate Winner this week is Taylor! He has worked extremely hard all week: finding equivalent fractions, practicing his handwriting, researching Anne Frank and finding real-life examples of forces. I am so proud! Well Done Taylor!
Have a great weekend!
