On Friday 28th in the morning the photographer will be returning to school to take Hazel and Oak’s class photos. Unfortunately due to bad weather on the day the picture quality is poor and the photographer has requested the photos are taken again.

Well done everyone in Hazel Class for taking part in sports day and for showing such good sporting behaviours!

We had lots of fun deciding the fate of our main character. In maths we have been looking at statistics, reading pictograms, tally charts and tables. We have also drawn our own after collecting information.
PE will be on Monday and Wednesday again this week.

This week the children have worked extra hard on their narrative writting and use of vocabulary – we are very pleased with the results and the amount of effort that has been shown. We are telling the time in maths using analogue and digital clocks, please try to encourage your child to tell the time over the coming weeks. We are also revisiting fractions and always practising our times tables.

A huge well done to all the children in Hazel Class for their hard work and determination this week! We have written our own openings to our class text, using ambitious vocabulary, similes and list sentences. The children shared and edited them with their peers. Everyone was positive and kind about their peer’s work and we had a suoer session sharing ideas. In Science we learned about the different types of skeleton animals have – ask your child for some of the fun facts we found out.
Also a big congratulations to the children who made imense improvements in their spelling scores, a little practise really does go a long way.

What a busy week! The children are enjoying our class text and learning about life in Tudor times, through the characters. We have now been introduced to Aunt Carew – and we have decided we wouldn’t want her as any of our aunts. The children have written their own setting descriptions for the text, using similes, list sentences and some ambitious vocabulary. Well done Hazel Class! In math we are just starting our new topic on money, so any practice counting money and giving change will be helpful over the next couple of weeks. We have been learning about healthy diets and how to read food labels. We have also recorded our favourite meals and looked at their nutritional values.
Enjoy the weekend and remember read, read, read!
