What an unusual and bizarre week! I’m sure the recent developments have unsettled your children as they have myself. I understand the chosen government actions and the not knowing a specific time scale but it doesn’t help in terms of knowing where we are and are heading. The children, as always, have taken it in their stride and their attitude towards COVID19 is educated and realistic. I thank them for overseeing the hand sanitising process at the start of the school day, after breaks and lunches and at the end of the school day.
I don’t know when school, for most, will continue but I do look forward to returning to normal. In the meantime I have added a note to our class page with ideas as to what the children can do (outputs and projects) and I have updated the homework from the Booster books for the next three weeks. It is perhaps as important as ever your children continue to carry out the work as it will benefit them directly for when they return or when they start at their respective Secondaries. I will add the answers to set homework on the class webpage each week so the children can assess how they are doing.
We have spent the week assessing and I am pleased to see your children’s grades increase as they put into practise what we have learnt. There are obviously some areas that the children haven’t covered in class yet as they were planned prior to the SATs. The children are aware of these areas and I would initially direct them to the BBC Bitesize website for guidance. If and when we return, before the end of the year, I will do my upmost to teach these skills.
I will be in school to help educate the children of our key workers and those that are vulnerable. Please stay safe. Thank you.
