Happy Friday!
Had a lovely week this week. Has been helped by some lovely sunny outbursts.
We have been getting stuck into our class book ‘the boy who grew dragons’ and the children are really enjoying it. We have used it this week to write our very own stories about searching for Dragons. There were lots of fabulous ideas, I am really looking forward to reading them.
In Maths we have been busy learning how to tell the time! This week we have looked at:
- o’clock and half past
- quarter to and quarter past
- all ‘to’ times
- all ‘past’ times
- telling time within 5 minutes.
The children have been really good at this and have enjoyed telling me what time it is in class. Many of them reminding me when lunch time is getting close!
In Science we discovered what was inside a seed and checked in on our plant experiment. Some of the seeds had started to germinate and the children were very excited to see the life cycle of a plant evolve in front of them. In Art, we made African inspired tribal masks. The children all planned them last week and used their designs to fabricate some great pieces. In RE, we looked at the ten commandments and how it is important to live by rules and in History we looked at Katherine Johnson and her life at NASA.
Remember lots of reading please!
Have a lovely bank holiday, see you bright and early on Tuesday.
