Hey!
A nice week in Elm class again this week. The children loved the magic of World Book Day on Thursday. They had great fun visiting the other classrooms to experience Mythical Creatures, Potion Making, Herbology and Transfiguration. A truly spell bounding day for all of them. They all made great effort with their costumes and really enjoyed sharing books that they love.
In Maths, we have been looking at capacity and volume. The children really enjoyed using the water tray to fill up different containers and exploring the different capacities and looking at how to fill to the correct volumes. In English, we have been practicing how to right the best sentences. Making sure we are using full stops, capital letters and adjectives to add extra description.
In History we have carried on comparing Victorian schools to schools today. This week we focused on the layout, the learning and the resources that the children had. Many of the children commented again about being happy to be a pupil in 2024! In Science we explored how quickly germs spread and the fabulous work of Louis Pasteur. In Art we looked at signs of spring and painted trees with blossom or yellow daffodils.
Can we make sure that we are reading lots at home! Thank you. The children are all excited about getting raffle tickets but they need the comment from home for it to count towards the prizes!
Hoping to make a fruit salad in Design and Technology this week. Can you please let us know if there are any allergies. Many thanks.
Have a lovely weekend.
