Hi everyone!
What a lovely week we have had in Elm class. I am so proud of how well the children have settled in and have shown great positivity towards myself as their new teacher. They all work super hard and I am really enjoying teaching in Elm. They have also been very receptive of our new ‘Good to be Green’ behaviour chart.
In Maths, we have finished our topic on Money. We have looked at how to give change, add different amounts and even looked at two-step problems. Next week we will be moving on to Multiplication and Division.
In English, we have been reading the Twits. The children have loved listening the story and have had fun writing expanded noun phrases to describe them! We all agreed that sentences with more description are much better to read than boring short sentences.
In Science we have looked at Living, Dead and Never Alive. The children really enjoyed categorising the items and discussing the life processes that makes them alive. In History, we explored the life and influence of Florence Nightingale and what she did for Nursing. We could not believe how much she did in her life. Some of the children said they would like to be nurses and paramedics as they liked the sound of caring for others.
PE – Tuesday and Thursday (please see the letter that was sent home with your child this evening regarding uniform and PE kit).
Parent’s evening slots are filling up quick so can you please return the letters ASAP to avoid not getting your desired time.
Remember, if you need to reach me please email: elm@crowmoorschool.co.uk and I will get back to you.
Finally, BIG WELL DONE to Charlie, who was the Golden Certificate winner this week. He has worked super hard and made good choices when faced with new learning challenges. Keep it up Charlie!
Have a fabulous weekend! Remember to READ READ READ!
