This week the children have been busy practising their times table ready for their times table check. They have been working hard all year on their times tables and should be proud of the progress they have made. They can continue practising at home on: Multiplication Tables Check – 2023 – Timestables.co.uk
In Maths, we looked at converting to and from the 24-hour clock which finished our unit on Time. Yesterday, we started our unit on shape where we looked at angles as turns. Today, the children enjoyed going out on the playground to work as a group to follow instructions, where they needed to move clockwise and anti-clockwise and half and quarter turns. We also looked at identifying acute, obtuse and right angles.
In English, we have started our unit on Historical stories. We started the week looking at key vocabulary and events in a story then found features of historical stories. The children tried to write their own suspense questions and synonyms for said.
The children really enjoyed looking at herbs this afternoon in Design and Technology. They looked at and smelt dried and fresh herbs, and thought about when they are used.
In Science, we have started our unit on Plants. The children looked at parts of flowering plants and what their job is.
Our Golden Certificate winner this week is Frankie. She has a positive attitude to learning and her perseverance has really paid off . Frankie has worked really hard with her times tables and should be very proud of the progress she has made. Well done!
