This week we were extremely lucky to have the opportunity to visit Shrewsbury Prison as part of our Crime and Punishment topic. The children really enjoyed exploring the different wings, discovering what crimes led to being sent to prison and the punishments that were given to the prisoners. They even found out that the prison was haunted! We completed some fun tasks organised by the prison and enjoyed a scavenger hunt looking at clues and answering questions! They showed great enthusiasm and asked some fantastic questions during the guided tour – very impressed with all of them. Well done, Sycamore! We all cannot wait to carry on exploring Crime and Punishment through the ages!
The children looked great in their crowns and thank you to all of you who came to celebrate this afternoon.
In English, we have planned and written our persuasive speeches. Today we have been looking at reading our work and how we could edit and improve it.
In Maths, we have been making a whole using tenths and hundredths, and partitioning decimals. Next week, we will be finishing our work on decimals.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the bank holiday.
