Welcome back!
It has been lovely to see all the children coming back refreshed and ready to learn again after the week off. We have had a great start to the new half-term and we look forward to all the things we have in store before Christmas!
This week in Literacy, we have continued with our World War 2 Poetry writing. The children finished off the unit by performing their group poems to the rest of the class. Their poems will now be compiled into an ‘Oak Class World War 2 Poetry Anthology’ and can be found in our reading corner for all the children to read.
In Maths, we have just completed our unit of multiplication and division where the children have been developing their skills in multiplying and dividing by multiples of 10,100 and 1000. We will complete an end of topic test on Monday, ready to move onto fractions.
A highlight this week seems to be our French version of ‘head, shoulders, knees and toes’, where the children applied their new knowledge of body parts into a song. All the children thoroughly enjoyed this and I’m sure you have heard this being sung around the house!
Our Golden Certificate Winner this week is Allegra! She tries so hard to complete all work to a high standard with beautiful presentation. In particular, her piece of writing in Literacy was fabulous! She will take the Oak Class Diary home this week. Well Done Allegra!
Following this week, PE has been moved to a Thursday, so please remember to come in PE kits on Thursdays now. Swimming will remain on Friday. This can be found on the class information page if you are unsure.
Have a lovely weekend!
