What a fabulous time we are having in Year 5!
This week we have selected our School Council representatives and Unicef Ambassadors. The children presented their speeches to the rest of the class and voted for who they believe will be best to represent Oak Class. Congratulations to Lila and Jake R on becoming our School Councillors and to Harrison and Indie on becoming our Unicef Ambassadors.
In English this week, we have focused on creating expanded noun phrases when describing different characters. We have developed our use of adjectives to ensure our audience is able to visualise our character in their heads.
In Maths, we have continued with our work on Place Value. The children have worked with numbers up to 1 million and have been writing, multiplying and partitioning these. I am super impressed with the children’s efforts this week and they are beginning to show more confidence with independent activities.
In French this week, we had a great conversation about the children’s ambitions for when they grow up. It was great to hear so many interesting aspirations for their future career choices and we were able to express some of these in French!
Our Golden Certificate Winner this week is Karla-May. She has demonstrated some fabulous work in Maths when partitioning numbers up to 1 million. She has also show to be a very supportive friend to her peers. She will take home the Oak Class Diary this week, well done Karla!
Have a great weekend,
Miss Hipkiss
