Hello everyone,
We have had another super fun and busy week!
In Literacy, we have written a letter as an evacuee. The children have compiled all their knowledge from the past two weeks to write these letters and have imagined they have been evacuated during World War 2. I am super impressed with all children and their efforts during their letter writing and this is reflected in the quality of their work.
In Maths, we have completed the addition and subtraction unit, and moved onto our new unit focussing on multiplication and subtraction. The children have begun to look at common multiples and have found their times tables knowledge coming in handy. If children can continue practicing times tables at home using Mathletics and Times Tables Rock Stars, this will help them in weeks to come.
We have created crab life cycle posters in science using the computers. We have referred back to crabs we found whilst away at Arthog, and have found out the different stages in a crab’s life cycle.
We had a super start to our swimming sessions this morning. Thank you for sending all children in with the correct kit. We seem to have many little fish in Oak Class! Our next swimming session is on the 4th November, due to PD days and half-term week.
Our Golden Certificate Winner this week is Lily-Ann. She is a great role model to all of Year 5, and always demonstrates a positive attitude to learning. Lily-Ann is praised by many teachers around school for her efforts in lessons, and this is reflected in her work. She has produced a great letter as an evacuee, using many Year 5 grammatical features. Well Done Lily-Ann!
You should have all had communication about parents’ evening time slots for next Monday and Tuesday. If you have any questions, please email oak@crowmoorschool.co.uk
See you all next week,
Miss Hipkiss, Mrs Brunyard and Miss Nicholas.
