Welcome to Hazel Class!
It’s been great to welcome everyone back after the summer. I have been so pleased with how the children have settled into Hazel Class! Year 3 is the year our children enter Key Stage 2. It is an exciting transition for them as they progressively become more independent in both their learning and their personal development. A time when we aim to provide them with the skills they need to achieve this, as well as offer a nurturing safety net, should they need it.
This is my fourth-year teaching at Crowmoor and every year is different, I look forward to seeing what each year brings. I enjoy teaching Key Stage 2 and the fun they bring to the classroom. This year, we will be spending lots of time outside as I enjoy utilising the outside areas we have, within our learning. I look forward to working with many of you again this year, as well as meeting some new faces.
This term’s topic is called ‘What has shaped our country?’. This will include learning about the history of World War 2. The children already shared what they already know about World War 2 and discussed what they would like to find out during this topic. You will find our topic web on the Hazel Class Information page.
We have discussed our Class Charter, deciding on statements that will ensure our classroom is a wonderful place to be. We have voted for our School Council Representatives and UNICEF Ambassadors. Congratulations to Ben and Ella our School Council Representatives and Riley and Betsy our UNICEF Ambassadors.
Below you can see an example of some of the work we have completed this week. Ava has been awarded The Golden Certificate this week for her wonderful presentation across all subjects. As well as reading at home every night this week!
This year, we are focusing hard on learning, especially showing care and pride in our achievements. My expectations for the class are high. Reading and spelling practise must be completed each evening, I look forward to working with you to encourage your child with their independent learning.
PE will be on Thursday; the children should come dressed in their P.E kits ready.
