Hello everyone,
It is great to see many children bringing coats into school this week, it definitely is Autumn weather!
In Literacy, we have been learning about features in a biography. We have learnt and applied past tense, third person pronouns and adverbials. On Friday, we used a range of sources to research Captain Sir Thomas Moore, ready to write our biographies about him next week. Why not ask your child, what they know about him!
In Maths, we have started our addition and subtraction unit. We have added 1’s, 10’s and 100’s this week. Please ensure that you are learning times tables at home daily, it really does help with all areas of the children’s maths. Next week, I will be starting them on their weekly cracking times tables tests.
This week we had a visit from Ray, who came to speak with the children about road safety. He was so impressed with the children in each session. Their listening skills and manners where fantastic! Well done Hazel Class!
Congratulations to this weeks golden certificate winner Harry, who showed an excellent understanding of our place value unit.
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Bliss and Mrs Martin
