Welcome back everyone!
I hope you had a super summer and are as excited as I am to be back to school this term. We have had a busy week deciding our classrules, for our charter (some funny ones we couldn’t write down – ask your child) and talking about our whole school rules and expectations. It has been lovely to see the children enthusiastically using our recognition board and especially how proud they are of their friend’s achievements.
We are going to be working hard on our presentation, so please practise handwriting and number formation at home. Only our very best will do in Chestnut class. The children are quickly proving that they are up to the challenge, and have had me dancing already!
We have been completing our one page profiles and these will soon be ready to come home for you to add to. We have lots of exciting activities planned for this term and we are sure the children will enjoy our topics. Each week everyone will have a session of outdoor learning within our school grounds, so please ensure your child brings a coat each day. Well done to Mali for being our first golden certificate winner this year!
PE will be every Tuesday and children should come to school in their PE kits. We will aim to change reading books twice a week providing they have been read at home and recorded in reading diarys. Your child can change their free reader text more frequently within the classroom, so please ensure both books are brought to school each day. Spellings will be given out on a Friday and tested the following Friday. Thank you for your support.
Have a great weekend, see you all on Monday
