Year Five Kingswood Trip

Year five children will be leaving for Kingswood on Wednesday 18th September and returning on Friday 20th September by 3.15pm.

Please bring luggage and medication to reception on Wednesday morning. Parents must be with their child to complete any necessary medical administration forms.

Chestnut Weekly News

We have had a very busy week, we have learned about weather and weather forecasts.  We have had a go at our own weather forecasts and next week we will be recording the weather.  Today we enjoyed our Bollywood Dancing session, thank you to everyone who was able to join in.   Afterwards we tasted some Indian foods.  This was a delicious and well earned treat.

This week we have completed our fact files about India and have started reading Elmer books.  We will be writing our own Elmer adventures.  In math we are learning about fractions and have been cutting shapes in half.  We will be learning how to half numbers.  We have found out about the parts of a plant that we can eat, and we tasted lots of different fruits and vegetables.  Some of these were from India.  On World Environment day we learnt about recycling, waste disposal and air pollution.  We found out how plants can improve our air quality and we made some amazing art with recycled bottle tops.  Today we had great fun learning Bollywood dancing.  Please come and join us next Friday when we can all dance together!
