Hello everyone!
I hope you’ve all had a lovely Easter break.
This week, we have been continuing our work on decimals. We have been looking at dividing 1 and 2 digit numbers by 10 and also looking at the value of hundredths and using a place value grid to help work out the value of each digit.
During Literacy, we have started our unit on explanation texts. We have looked at examples of explanation texts and discussed the features of them.
We have started our new topic on China. We have started looking at the landscape of China and how it differs to our local landscape. The children seem really excited about our new topic and eager to learn about a different culture.
Spellings and homework have been given out this week. Spellings will be tested next Thursday. The homework is a termly project based upon our topic of China. All children have been given a sheet with the information on. I have spare copies in my classroom if they have been misplaced!
We have been continuing with the Daily Mile too. As the weather is steadily improving, we are encouraging children to make sure that they have their water bottles with them and also a sun hat (if necessary). If the forecast is good, please can you ensure that you put suncream on your child before they come to school.
Thank you and we hope you have a great weekend!
