Hello everyone,
We have had a great week in Hazel Class! The children really have started off the Spring term well!
This in in English, we have been looking at the features of instructions. We have looked at what a heading and subheading is, used imperative verbs and have created definitions for technical vocabulary linked to the Egyptians and the mummification process. Why not ask your child what new vocabulary they learnt this week!
In Maths, we have been using a formal written to multiply and 2-digit number by a 1-digit number. I have been so pleased with the care the children have taken with their layout while using this written method.
In History, we looked at artefacts from the Ancient Egypt times. We asked questions about these and discussed what we though some of these were and what they were used for. In Science, we began our unit on forces and magnets. We looked at some of the different forces in action including pushes and pulls.
Well done to this weeks golden certificate winner Tyler, he has worked extremely hard to improve his handwriting. What a difference!
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Bliss and Mrs Martin
