This week the children have been writing and editing their setting descriptions. We have been talking about using adjectives to describe what can be seen, heard, smelt and felt and to describe the mood and atmosphere. We have also been talking about figurative language- metaphors, similes, personification and hyperbole.
Our Golden Certificate Winner is Sabine. She has written a fantastic character and setting description this half term. Well done, Sabine.
In Science, we continued to look at shadows and investigated how shadows change. We found that the larger the distance to the light the smaller the shadow, and the smaller the distance to the light the larger the shadow. The children enjoyed drawing shadows that were made using objects and torches.
In DT, the children have been creating a circuit for their light. Next week, they will be using their designs to finish making their light.
Hope you have a nice weekend,
Mrs Fairclough, Miss Shadbolt and Mrs Davies.
