Hello everyone,
We have had another brilliant week in Hazel Class.
In Literacy, we started our new unit ‘Letters’. We have looked at an example letter from an evacuee to their Mum and have discussed and identified the different features of a letter. We have learnt to use commas in a list and subordinating conjunctions. We used an acronym to remember the subordinating conjunctions. Ask your child what our acronym I SAW A WABUB means!
In Maths, we have been adding two numbers exchanging over 10’s and 100’s. The children have been using the written column method to complete their addition calculations. We have discussed why it is important to start in the ones column every time.
In topic, we have researched entertainment during the war time and how this is different and similar to the entertainment in our lives today.
Well done to this weeks golden certificate winner, Noah. He completed some wonderful homework! You can see this below.
Today, your child will have brought home a parents evening appointment slip. Appointments will be held on Monday 18th and Tuesday 17th. I look forward to seeing you all then.
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Bliss and Mrs Martin
