Hello everyone,
It has certainly turned cooler this week! And the layers are defiantly needed. Can I ask that school jumpers are in school and items are all labeled. This really does make it easier to return any lost items.
In Literacy, we have started our new unit on biographies. We have explored a biography about Tom Palmer (the author of our class text, D-Day Dog). Discussing the vocabulary used and identifying the features. Next week, we will be exploring the grammar features of a biography.
In Maths, we have been continuing our work on place value. We have estimated numbers to 1,000 on a number line, ordered and compare numbers to 1,000 and counting in 50’s. We begin our unit on addition and subtraction next week.
In topic, we have explore how people on the home front, contributed to the war effort. The children have enjoyed sharing their prior knowledge, as well as any questions they have surrounding this topic, by adding post-its to our display. In Religious Education, we have looked at different symbols in Christianity.
Well done to this weeks golden certificate winner Hakeem, for his wonderful effort and presentation in Maths this week.
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Bliss and Mrs Martin
